Girl Next Door
My tenth Music of the Soul book is published!
On June 18, 2014 my eBook, Girl Next Door, was added at Amazon.com! As per usual, print on demand paperbacks are also available! Before I could even write this blog post, Girl Next Door has soared to number four on the bestseller list for lesbian romance on Amazon... Just how friggin' awesome are my readers?
As I always do, first I'll say a little about this new book before I give an overview of the story. The main characters in this emotional romance are strong women who, like all of us have internal fears that make them hold back and not share thier thoughts and emotions as freely as they would like. This inevitably will cause a friction where none should exist.
This book is the tenth book to take place in the Music of the Soul universe. I had to take a step back when I realized that, ten, I never thought the series would persevere this long but it is still going strong. Like the other books in the MOTS series, we find that what people believe is normal does not apply and that soulmates have this funny way of finding each other.
---
In Girl Next Door, we get to see the story of one of Penny Franklin's twin daughters, Brandye, and her next door neighbor, Robin, the blind artist we saw in Progeny.
We get to watch as these two are drawn together to become the best of friends. They become such a part of each others lives that neither even realizes that it is beyond friendship. Eveyone around them know that the two women were destined to be together. But between, Branye's view that every relationship is doomed to fail, and Robin's internal insecurity, they can never acknowledge it to each other.
Over the years they grow even closer together, but will their insecurities and Brandye's secret project tear the two apart?
---
The message behind this book is simply that there is someone out there for everyone, sometimes they are standing right in front of you and you don't even realize it. Plus, just like in Progeny, the other message is that you can't find a better friend than June Harris-West!
The cadence of this book was much different than my other MOTS books. It took years for the flame to ignite as the romance was on a slow simmer for three years. But Brandye's overture of love in the end took Robin, and the world by surprise.
I love my awesome readers, they were snapping up copies before I had time to post about it. I'm also excited to share the next book in the MOTS series with you soon, June, featuring none other than June herself as she says goodbye to Seattle and hello to the most unexpected chapter of her life. It will come out following the next book in the Drakon series, Dragonfall.
As I always do, I want my readers to know that I love them and appreciate any feedback, positive or negative. I also accept cornbread and chili.
There is a sneak peek chapter of the second book in my Drakon series, Dragonfall, at the end of the book. I can't wait to share the next adventure of that fiery redheaded Irish woman, Myra, and her staunch protector Quinn!
I'd love to hear feedback and discussion from YOU about the characters in Girl Next Door. I'd love to discuss the story with you!
